Louis Viljoen’s latest play, The Eulogists, premiers at the Fugard Theatre on 30 May, with a cast full of UCT alumni.

The media descend on a small town, waiting for a great statesman to die. One-time success author Audrey (Emily Child) bunks together with researcher Zee (Kiroshan Naidoo) around the corner from the dying man’s family home. Cabin fever soon sets in.

The pair is joined by radio correspondent Harris (Pierra Malherbe) and his stash of wine. He has a plan to alleviate the boredom.

But what are each of them hoping to achieve?

The Eulogists runs from 30 May to 17 June, Tuesdays to Saturdays at 20:00, with 16:00 Saturday matinees. There is an age restriction of 16 years.
