In remembrance: James Andrew Borchers

Dear colleagues and students

It is with sadness that we share news of the unexpected death of Mr James Andrew Borchers, a second-year MBChB student in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Mr Borchers passed away on 30 December 2016 while he was away on vacation. He is survived by his parents and siblings.

The university has been in contact with the family and has offered support during this time of bereavement.

Mr Borchers was regarded as a promising student who had a bright future in the medical profession.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be finalised by the family.

On behalf of the UCT community, we extend heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr Borchers.
