Climate change scientist Professor Bruce Hewitson is UCT's newest A-rated researcher following the latest round of National Research Foundation ratings.

A-ratings are awarded to researchers who are “unequivocally recognised by their peers as leading international scholars in their field for the high quality and impact of their recent research outputs”.

Further good news is that Drs Robyn Pickering and Katye Altieri have been awarded P-ratings, also known as the NRF President's Award. These are awarded to young researchers (under 35) who, on the basis of their research outputs in their early postdoctoral careers, are likely to become future leaders in their field.

Pickering is an isotope geochemist and lecturer in the Department of Geological Sciences. Altieri is a senior research officer in energy, environment and climate change in the Energy Research Centre.
