The UCT Consulting Club held its annual Case Competition final event in May, the culmination of a month-long competition that included 400 students from UCT, Wits and Stellenbosch Universities, vying for the R10 000 grand prize. From 100 teams, the field was first been reduced to 20, these undertaking workshops with professional management consultants from the sponsoring firms, Accenture, BCG, Bain and Fevertree. The top three teams at the final event were Commerce Men and Case In Point, both from UCT, and The Consulting Academy, from Wits. Each had a chance to persuade a panel of consultants why they deserved the R10 000 prize. UCT's Commerce Men emerged as the 2013 winners. The winning team and other finalists enjoyed dinner with the global president and CEO of the Boston Consulting Group, Rich Lesser, who shared his insights into business management consulting.
