23 April 2012

Jazz bursary launchedThe SACM recently hosted the launch of the Blue Notes Memorial Trust Bursary for Jazz, a programme made possible by a generous gift of £25 000 from the Blue Notes Memorial Trust.

The bursary is named after The Blue Notes, a South African jazz sextet who went into exile in the 1960s.

The launch drew together jazz icons such as Louis Moholo (on drums, above) and Ntshuks Bonga.
