UCT makes Saracens work for win

14 August 2009

Even flush with international caps, English Premiership side Saracens had to pull out all the stops in their 26-3 win over a not-so-full-strength UCT rugby first team last week. Despite the advantage of a strong wind at their backs, Saracens could manage only 21 points in the first half, thanks to some attacking play and ferocious tackling on the students' part. Saracens found points even harder to come by in the second half, tactical kicking proving tricky in the blustery conditions. The match was part of Saracens' pre-season Cape Town camp.
