At the UCT Trust's recent annual meeting in London, Vice-Chancellor Dr Max Price awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Medal (Silver Award) to Sibylla Tindale, outgoing and founding director of the UK-based UCT Trust.

Price praised the trust's work and particularly Tindale's enthusiasm, love for UCT and her drive to achieve "significant support" for the university.

In his ovation, former vice-chancellor and founder of the trust, Dr Stuart Saunders, said Tindale had been instrumental in raising some £18 million (approximately R270m) over the past 18 years for UCT projects.

These include All Africa House (100%), the Institute of Infectious Disease & Molecular Medicine, and the Upper Campus Project (Libraries & Knowledge Commons).
