Transition a focus of HoD indaba

Leadership transition was a focus of discussion at the annual heads of department indaba held in Milnerton this week.

Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Njabulo S Ndebele ends his second term of office at the end of June next year when Dr Max Price will take the helm. Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Martin West will also stand down in the middle of next year.

Also under the spotlight were proposals for staff development, the process for reviewing academic departments and appointing heads of academic departments.

The workshop was attended by 65 academic heads of departments and their designates as well as members of the Academic Heads of Department Working Group and the Senior Leadership Group.
