Postdoctoral fellowship

Lung Infection and Immunity Unit, Division of Pulmonology, Department of Medicine

Eligibility: A PhD degree within the last five years.

Value and tenure of fellowship: R120 000 per annum (the university will obtain a SARS tax exemption for this post); one year and renewable for a further two years to four years contingent on satisfactory progress.

Job description: Experience in flow cytometry, real-time PCR and tissue culture is desirable but not essential. The incumbent will be required to perform limited teaching and student supervision. The work will encompass studies of human pulmonary host immune responses to pathogens, including M tuberculosis.
