High-flying graduate returns for concert

26 July 2004

UCT graduate Kathleen Tagg is making a splash in the US. The pianist has just been invited by Young Artists International to perform in the world-famous Carnegie Hall in New York in November. For now, Tagg is striking a few chords here in Cape Town. She will present a preview of some of the works she'll be performing at Carnegie Hall in a candlelight piano recital in the historic St Andrews Anglican Church in Kildare Road, Newlands, on Friday, July 30, at 19h30. The programme will consist of Sonata in G Major, HOB XVI/40 by Haydn; Sonata-Fantasy: The Tempted Mermaid by Wilding; Carnaval by Schumann and Valse-Caprice from Soireé de Vienne, no 6, by Liszt. The concert will be followed by a cheese and wine reception. Tickets for this fundraiser are R40 each and can be purchased at the door or by calling 671 4021.
