After landing a gold medal at the SASSU games in Port Elizabeth last month, the netball A team is now also in line to take top honours in their Western Province Netball Union (WPNU) league after winning all their games in the 2003 season.

The side came close to blighting their immaculate record in their August 16 tie against Durbanville A, however, as the northern suburbs side dominated much of the middle stages of the contest. But UCT fought back well to best Durbanville by 37-32.

In a higher-scoring game on August 23, the team then went on to beat Goodwood B by 50-41.

In their last match of the season on September 6, UCT will take on the University of the Western Cape (UWC). A win there should secure them the league title.
