Shuttleworth presentation on entrepreneurship at UCT

Entrepreneur and erstwhile space traveller Mark Shuttleworth has invited the UCT community to a presentation on entrepreneurship and innovation entitled From Upstarts to Start-ups, in the Jameson Hall on August 15 from 12h30 to 14h00.
HBD, Shuttleworth's venture capital company, has established Upstarts Innovation Incubator to promote and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. Upstarts aims to create the ideal environment for an entrepreneur who has an idea but lacks the skills and resources to develop it.
UCT Innovation can also help to identify and package opportunities, and locate appropriate partners, working in partnership with the inventor. "Access to the recently-announced DST patent fund will enable us to leverage UCT resources and enhance our ability to commercialise intellectual property," said director Dr Tony Heher.
