Ramphele launches new book at UCT

THE KRAMER Law building recently hosted the launch of former UCT Vice-Chancellor Dr Mamphele Ramphele's new book.

Ramphele was launching her latest work Steering by the Stars.

Ramphele says the book was inspired by her curiosity about the experiences of childhood and youth in poor urban communities.

In her address, she said that the life experiences of South Africa's impoverished youth bear the scars of the apartheid legacy, and it is the responsibility of all South Africans to listen to their voices because they are not only the future but also the present.
