UCT Jazz to honour Dludlu at 20th anniversary concert

THIS year marks the 20th anniversary of the Cape Town Jazz Society, established by a group of UCT students, and to celebrate the occasion the Society is holding a concert on May 17 as a tribute to Jimmy Dludlu.

Dludlu is a graduate of UCT's South African College of Music (SACM) and a renowned artist who has made his mark on the international jazz scene. The anniversary programme will be held at the Baxter Concert Hall and will include cocktails followed by a guest and tribute speaker and a programme of music.

More than 200 UCT students and staff have been invited as well as jazz personalities and friends of UCT's SACM. Tickets are available at Computicket at R35 for members of the public and R25 for students.
