Renowned South African ballet master, Johaar Mosaval, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Cape Town in March 2020. During his career, Mosaval had a string of groundbreaking achievements and rose to the rank of senior principal dancer of the UK’s Royal Ballet by 1965. He was also a pioneeer and a teacher in South Africa. Mosaval reflects on his outstanding career as a ballet dancer. Johaar Mosaval has been awarded the Doctor of Music (honoris causa) degree.

The December graduation season has seen the University of Cape Town (UCT) exploring uncharted territory, with thousands of graduates being honoured in virtual graduation celebratory events – the first of their kind for the university since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.08 Feb 2021
