UCT appoints Prof Alison Lewis first female Dean of EBE
The University of Cape Town has appointed Professor Alison Lewis as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment (EBE) - the first woman to receive such an appointment. She will take up her new position on 1 June 2015.

Permit for temporary removal of CJ Rhodes statue granted
The University of Cape Town and Heritage Western Cape hereby confirm that a permit has been granted to UCT for the temporary removal of the Rhodes statue from the campus. These steps are being taken to ensure the safety of the statue while matters concerning its future are resolved.
