UCT students dressed in the blue, pink and white of the trans flag, and holding aloft placards bearing messages such as “Trans Health Matters” and “Trans Rights are Human Rights”, joined the Rainbow UCT march in solidarity with the trans community to mark Human Rights Month on Wednesday, 27 March. They were highlighting the current shortages in South Africa that are adversely affecting those who need essential hormone replacement treatment. Photographer Michael Hammond captured all the action.
