UCT jazzes it up

19 February 2007

Last year, the South African College of Music released its first CD, Full Spectrum - UCT Jazz. The collection, featuring some of South Africa's most celebrated musicians, has been produced by Mike Campbell, head of SACM Jazz Studies, and contains music by staff, students and alumni of the college. Included in this historical CD is music by an illustrious line up of musicians, including Jimmy Dludlu, Selealo Selota, Breakfast Included, Andrew Lilley, Mike Rossi, Melissa van der Spuy and the acclaimed UCT Big Band. UCT's Communication and Marketing Department initiated and part-funded this CD, and the artists on Full Spectrum have offered their talent and resources freely in support of this project. Funds raised will go towards the development of jazz at UCT. Similar CD projects are being tabled subject to funding. Full Spectrum costs just R100 and is available trough the SACM at telephone 021 650 2626.
