Assoc Prof Franklin Larey, director of the South African College of Music, has been appointed as director of the 2007 Summer Session of the Adamant Music School in Vermont in the US. Adamant, billed as the premier piano facility in New England, attracts the best young professional musicians and teachers for two weeks of intensive training and public performances at this session, which runs in July and August. Larey, who taught at Adamant in 2005 and 2006, will, among other things, plan sessions and work on the school's vision for years ahead. "I was absolutely thrilled when they contacted me in October to ask me to be next year's director."
