Secretaries have their day

08 September 2003

Happy times: UCT secretaries and admin staff dance to the tune of Secretaries' Day.

For a few blessed hours last week, about 150 UCT secretaries, PAs and administrative personnel fled their daily millstones (telephone calls, e-mails and paperwork) to regale themselves with dance, drinks and dips at the annual Secretaries' Day luncheon.

Part of a national campaign, the event is hosted each year to honour the hard work of secretaries and administrative staff at UCT. As usual, the fare of music, cuisine and prizes was admirably put together by UCT's Keylink committee, which provides support for the development of the university's administrative staff.

Keylink wishes to thank the many kind sponsors who contributed to this year's Secretaries' Day luncheon (in alphabetical order): American Express Travel, AV's Gifts and Flowers, Campus Camera, Discovery Health, Exclusive Cabinets and Components, Ikey Store, Ingwe Health Plan, IT Africa, Jammie Shuttle, Millway Travel, MTN, Petersen Consulting Group, Pick 'n Pay Rondebosch, Quest Personnel, TNT Worldwide, UCT Keylink, Waltons Stationery, Wimpy Rondebosch, and Dave van Eeden, executive director of Human Resources Management at UCT.
