Marked by resilience, growth and discipline, the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) autumn 2026 graduation was a festive affair punctuated with song, dance and tears of joy. Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube, was among the graduates in the Commerce faculty, remarking, “I’m flirting with the idea of continuing my studies”. Vice-Chancellor Professor Mosa Moshabela congratulated graduates and urged them to remember the resolve they showed during their studies as they enter new chapters in their lives.
