On Saturday, 12 June, University of Cape Town (UCT) Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng and Mastercard Foundation Program Scholars made their way up one of Cape Town’s most popular mountains, Lion’s Head. Upon reflection, some of the students felt that the climb was symbolic of the obstacles that lie in one’s path, and the determination and hard work it takes to overcome them. Following the hike, they were treated to lunch and enjoyed some lively discussions back on campus.
