Appeal to Southern Suburbs homeowners for accommodation for UCT students

04 March 2017 | Story by Newsroom

Many of our 2017 students are beginning to return to campus for the start of term on 13 March 2017 and are looking for off-campus accommodation.

We are aware that some students are not able to afford some of the off-campus accommodation on offer, as rentals are at a premium in the areas surrounding the university.

This is an earnest appeal to anyone who may have safe and secure accommodation in the Southern Suburbs, preferably in areas on the UCT Jammie Shuttle route between Observatory and Claremont.

The affordable price range for most of the affected students is between R3 000 to R4 000 for a room. We would be grateful if you would consider waiving their deposits as many students find it difficult to access the funds needed.

Please contact Ms Rosy Williams at UCT's Off-Campus Student Accommodation Services (OCSAS) on 021 650 4934 or ocsas@uct.ac.za.
