Dance through the decades

A retrospective photographic exhibition, in celebration of the UCT School of Dance's 75th anniversary, was opened on 29 May. Director of the School of Dance, Gerard Samuel (left), introduced curator Dr Eduard Greyling (right), who officially opened the 75 Photos Exhibition. Depicting both performances and behind-the-scenes rehearsals through the decades, the photographs on display reflect the shifts that have occurred at the school, from its pre-war inception up to the 21st century. Speaking at the opening, Samuel said that the school plans to launch a full exhibition of archived photographs in November, and there are plans to produce a book on the subject.
