THE GRADUATE SCHOOL of Business has appointed Dr Shadrick Mazaza as a senior lecturer in health management. The post was made possible after Atlantic Philanthropies donated funds to the Oliver Tambo Fellowship Programme, a partnership between the GSB’s corporate learning division and the UCT School of Public Health and Family Medicine to develop management skills among senior public-health officials.

THE HIGHER AND ADULT Education Studies Development Unit welcomed the latest intake on its two-year Diploma in Adult Education course on 27 July. The 12-year-old programme aims to develop a grasp of the field of adult education, community education and workplace education, and familiarise adult educators with some of the theoretical traditions of the subject, among other things.

EMERITUS PROFESSOR DAVID Woods has released a new coursebook, Child Health Care. Published by Electric Book Works, the book focuses on solving common paediatric disorders, and includes guides to definitions, causes, diagnoses, prevention, dangers and management.
