The paleontological and archaeological collections at Iziko Museums are world-renowned. It allows for postgraduate students to have access to unique collections while being jointly supervised by researchers at Iziko Museums and the University of Cape Town (UCT) respectively.
Prof Anusuya Chinsamy-Turan, a world-famous paleontologist based at UCT, has built her academic reputation on studying these collections. Iziko Museums is thus integrally part of knowledge creation. However, it also makes visible the value of this to the general public.
