Varsity Cup Cape Derby sees Ikeys, Maties face off

The 2024 Varsity Cup rugby Cape Derby between the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Ikey Tigers and Stellenbosch University’s (SU) Maties was the headline game during week two of the current season. The match took place at a windy Green Mile on Monday, 26 February. UCT’s Development and Alumni Department (DAD) hosted a networking and viewing session for members of both universities, including UCT Vice-Chancellor interim Emeritus Professor Daya Reddy and his counterpart at SU, Professor Wim de Villiers. Ikeys lost the game 10–15.
