MeerLICHT: A new window on the southern skies

A new and fully customised optical telescope, MeerLICHT – meaning “more light”, was launched at the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) facilities in Sutherland on 25 May, 2018. Newsroom photographer Robyn Walker was there to capture the ceremony.
