Executive Support Unit

The Executive Support Unit (ESU) supported CMD during a demanding year for the department. All meetings went online and were supported by the unit:

• recordings
• minuting
• scheduling
• Finance and Human Resource processes.

MSR was supported with several of the online events. Administrative and logistical processes were also digitised, thereby enabling ESU to efficiently support all CMD units.

Our top five highlights of the year:

1. distributed care packs on behalf of the CMD executive to colleagues
2. distributed print copies and marketing collateral for UCT’s Year in Review 2019 and Campus Life 2021 publications
3. managed CMD’s assets through the asset register (new purchases, stock inventories, insurance claims, asset movement control, e-waste discarding)
4. conducted a highly successful “Operation clean-up” at the Welgelegen building by selling assets, or ensuring they were donated to non-governmental organisations, on behalf of CMD
5. logged +-30 maintenance calls with external suppliers for the period under review.
