UCT Libraries’ new information-finding solution, Primo, went live on 1 December.

On 1 December 2017, the University of Cape Town Libraries switched over to the world-class information-finding solution, Primo.

With this cloud-based solution, which replaces the current library system, students, researchers, academics and staff are able to discover UCT Libraries’ rich collections. This includes print and electronic books, journals, theses, media resources, digital collections and course reserve (short loan) material. Content from OpenUCT is also discoverable via Primo.

The Primo platform will enhance the search process in such a way that information is easily discoverable across a range of devices.

The Primo search and discovery system has been integrated into the library’s website or can be accessed directly.
