Gold medal for architect

Professor Jo Noero of the School of Architecture, Planning and Geomatics has won the Institute of South African Architects' Gold Medal for Architecture for his outstanding contribution to the field.

Noero is also a partner at Noero Wolff Architects, a firm that has displayed their work at five of the world's most prestigious architecture exhibitions: the Shanghai World Expo,the Venice Biennale in the exhibition titled People Meet Architecture, at the Turkish Chamber of Architects Biennial Congress in Istanbul, the World Architectural Festival in Barcelona, and the Museum Of Modern Art in New York in the exhibition titled Small Scale, Big Change.

Over the years the practice has received eight international awards and over 26 local and national awards for architecture. Their work ranges from designs for houses to designs for large-scale cultural and institutional buildings such as churches, schools, and museums.
