04 September 2006

Applicants are invited by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to submit applications for evaluation and rating online at http://nrfonline.nrf.ac.za. The online system is now open. The NRF's closing date for applications is February 28, 2007, and no late applications will be accepted. Please note UCT's internal closing dates below.

First time/new applications

UCT's internal closing date for new applications is Friday, November 10. Applications will be screened by an expert panel and feedback given to applicants by mid-December. Final submissions will be due in mid-February. Should you wish to align your rating and funding cycles, you will be required to apply for project funding when the next calls for applications under the NRF's Focus Area and SANAP Programmes are opened.

Re-evaluation applications

Re-evaluation applicants will have the option of submitting their applications for one of two internal closing dates. The first date of November 22 is optional, and for those applicants wanting early feedback. The second and final due date is January 15, 2007. Please note that researchers who fail to apply for re-evaluation will not be eligible to apply for future NRF funding.
