Up, up, up they go

26 September 2005

Within a whiff of at least third place on the WP Super League table following their 42-14 away win - involving a six-try haul - over NNK, the FNB UCT rugby first team now actually have an opportunity to realise their goal for the year. If the cards fall their way, they could well finish runners-up for the season. This from a side on the cusp of relegation just weeks ago. They can't do much about the other teams' performances over their last games, but Alan Solomons and his team can at least give destiny a helping hand and win their last two games. This is a grudge match against Stellenbosch - played over the past weekend, and probably the acid test for the revitalised UCT squad - and a make-up game against Tygerberg. The rest, as they say, is up to the gods.
