Mineral conference kicks off

The week-long XXII International Mineral Processing Congress kicked off in Cape Town today. Among those who welcomed the delegates were (from left) UCT's Dr Dave Deglon, Dr Dee Bradshaw, Meg Winter, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, Professor Cyril O'Connor, who is also chair of the organising committee, Martin Harris, and Professor Leon Lorenzen (University of Stellenbosch), chair of the technical committee. Over 600 delegates from all over the world will meet to discuss the latest developments in the fast-changing mineral processing field. This is the first time this event has been held in Africa.
