Angus Rule, the chief technical officer in the Department of Civil Engineering, talks about how the Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment's rainwater harvesting system in the New Engineering Building is saving thousands of litres of water.

The University of Cape Town has pledged to reduce its water consumption by half to ensure that we are water sustainable in the future and to help Cape Town reduce its water use now.

We all need to do our bit to save water, and ensure that our water resources are protected.

You can help by using less than 50 litres of water per person per day, in total.
