Angus Rule, the chief technical officer in the Department of Civil Engineering, talks about how the University of Cape Town's Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment is saving water.

He explains how rainwater harvesting in the New Engineering Building is helping to reduce the department's reliance on potable, municipal water, and what systems have been implemented.

The University of Cape Town has pledged to reduce its water consumption by half to ensure that we are water sustainable in the future and to help Cape Town reduce its water use now.

We all need to do our bit to save water, and ensure that our water resources are protected.

You can help by using less than 50 litres of water per person per day, in total.

Together we can #SLOWTHEFLOW
