Awards aplenty for CMD

The Marketing, Advancement and Communication in Education (MACE) Excellence Awards, and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) have recognised the Communications and Marketing Department (CMD) for the vital role it played in championing world-class communication at the University of Cape Town in 2022.

The MACE Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate excellence and the achievements of specialists and practitioners in marketing, communication and advancement in the higher education sector, while the IABC Gold Quill Awards are the IABC’s premier awards programme – recognising excellence in the field of business communication.

Collectively, CMD, which comprises the Newsroom and Video Production (NVP); Media and Social Media (MSM); Brand and Stakeholder Relations (BSR); and Online Communications (OC) units walked away with a total of 14 awards in the following categories:

These awards are testament to the department’s commitment to excellence in communication; and demonstrate colleagues’ dedication to ongoing professional development, teamwork and benchmarking their outputs in the communications and marketing sector with those of their peers, both locally and abroad.
