Inaugural #RhodesMustFall Scholarship Public Lecture

Emeritus Professor Njabulo S Ndebele delivered the inaugural #RhodesMustFall Scholarship Public Lecture, ‘What will rise after the fall of Rhodes?’, on 9 April. This marked the sixth anniversary of the removal of the Cecil John Rhodes statue on upper campus. This annual lecture is an initiative of the Rhodes Must Fall Scholarship Committee.

Emeritus Professor Njabulo S Ndebele chairs the Nelson Mandela Foundation, The Mandela Rhodes Foundation, and is Chancellor of the University of Johannesburg. He has taught English, African literature and creative writing, and has published fiction and essays on literature and culture in South Africa.
