The University of Cape Town (UCT) Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng hosted the 4th annual Heads of Mission Breakfast on Thursday, 13 February, ahead of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address.
The event, which offers UCT an opportunity to reach out to its international partners, and entrench and celebrate its presitigious global status, also saw the keynote address delivered by UCT’s new chancellor, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe. She told the gathering that as the continent’s academic and research powerhouse, and with collaborations around the world, UCT is uniquely positioned to contribute to world economic, environmental and social sustainability.
