Dedicated trauma unit head honoured for his life-saving work in child safety

Head of the trauma unit at Cape Town’s Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, Professor Sebastian van As, has been recognised with the prestigious 2018 Pifer Research Award for his tireless work in the child safety arena. Van As is also the head of Childsafe. He has poured his heart and soul into preventing and treating childhood injury over the past few decades.
