The annual UCT Three-Minute Thesis competition was held in the Snape Teaching Studio on Thursday, 13 September 2018, and saw 14 PhD students competing.

Also known as 3MT, the event is a local version of the international competition that sees students presenting their research to a non-specialist audience, verbally and with a single static PowerPoint slide, in just three minutes.

Winners were awarded cash prizes, and the opportunity to represent UCT at the national 3MT finals, which are being hosted at the University of the Free State on 26 October.
