Justice Yvonne Mokgoro, the first woman appointed to the Constitutional Court, received an honorary degree from the Faculty of Law at its graduation ceremony on Saturday, 7 April 2018 in Memorial Hall.

She addressed the faculty's graduands and urged them to always strive to make the Constitution work for all South Africans. She also reminded them that their human rights came at a tremendous cost, and that it was their responsibility to always ensure that all South Africans' freedoms are protected.
