Creative Writing at UCT: Afrikaans poetry

Afrikaans poetryFour poets in the Creative Writing programme under supervision of the Afrikaans poet and critic, professor Joan Hambidge, from the School of Languages and Literatures, received wonderful news.

Carina Stander (left) published a second volume of poetry, woud van nege en negentig vlerke, after her most enchanting debut die vloedbos sal weer vlieg, both published by Tafelberg. Martina Klopper's (right) solo volume, Nadoodse ondersoek, was accepted by Human & Rousseau publishers for next year.

Lou-Ann Stone (left of Klopper) and Fourie Botha were shortlisted for Nuwe stemme 4, an anthology for young, promising poets (Tafelberg publishers).

Tafelberg and Human & Rousseau are prestigious publishing houses.
