Prestigious fellowship for Petroianu

Emeritus Professor Alexander Petroianu of the Department of Electrical Engineering has been nominated as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).

A non-profit organisation, the IEEE is a leading international professional association that advances technology. This includes aerospace systems, computers, telecommunications and biomedical engineering.

Petroianu's area of expertise is powers systems analysis and his nomination recognises his contribution to analytical tools for system security and training system operators.

IEEE awards pay tribute to professionals who have made a lasting impact on technology, society and the engineering profession. The institute has more than 370 000 members from over 160 countries.
