New edition of Globalist out

The second edition of The Cape Town Globalist, produced by UCT film and media students and part of a network of Globalist Foundation magazines by some of the world's top universities, will be available from October 31. Editor-in-chief Greg Eden said the newest edition has a more international focus and a larger contribution from the broader student body, particularly international students. "This ties in with 'the wall' awareness campaign run by the History and Current Affairs Society and other student organisations." Eden said the theme of conflict and resolution grew out of a special online edition run by the Global 21 Foundation during the recent Israel/Lebanon crisis. "We wanted to broaden the scope of this theme and look at other types of conflict, both internationally and at home. The magazine takes a number of angles on the nature of conflict and methods to bring about resolution." Students and staff can get a copy of the magazine on the plaza, outside the library or from their department office over the next few weeks. Comments and questions can be sent to editor@globalistfoundation.org.
