Calling macebearers

17 November 2003

The university requires staff or students to volunteer as macebearers for the upcoming December graduation ceremonies.

The macebearers are needed to:

  • lead the platform party (procession) in and out of Jameson Hall at the start and end of ceremonies; and
  • assist with providing academic dress to staff members joining the platform party.

Macebearing is voluntary, and there is no payment for providing this service.

Those who would like to act as macebearers can forward their names and contact details to Candice Van Reenen at e-mail or telephone 650-2187. Volunteers must state at which ceremony they would like to assist.
