In remembrance: Zwelidumile Langa

20 January 2021

Dear colleagues and students

We are deeply saddened to convey the news of the passing of our colleague, Mr Zwelidumile Langa (56), on 12 January 2021 due to COVID-19 complications.

Mr Langa joined UCT on 27 November 2017 and was a campus protection officer at Burnage. He has been described by his colleagues as a very humble and down to earth person who performed his job with diligence. He was a brother to his colleagues who displayed a great deal of maturity and his experience was evident in everything he did.

He leaves behind his parents; wife, Boluncoma; siblings, Mzwamadoda, Baxolele and Mandisa; and children, Mthombo, Mbasa and Amahle.

The funeral will take place on Friday, 22 January 2021, at Tsolo Village in the Eastern Cape.

We convey our heartfelt condolences to Mr Langa’s family, to whom we have reached out to offer our support in this period of grief. We also convey our condolences to his colleagues, friends and all who knew or worked with him at UCT.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
