Dear colleagues and students

I am very sad to have to inform you that Ms Zodidi Lucia Stafa (35) died in the early hours of Thursday, 8 June 2017, after a long period of intermittent illness. She had been to the Khayelitsha Hospital the day before her death.

Ms Stafa started working for Supercare cleaning services on 14 April 2003 and was among the staff members insourced by UCT on 1 July 2016. She had been working at UCT for 14 years, starting on upper campus and finally at the Health Sciences campus, her most recent place of work.

Her colleagues say that she always had a smile on her face and nothing was too big for her to handle.

Ms Stafa is survived by her mother, three sisters, and a 10-year-old daughter.

Her memorial service will be held at the Health Science campus on Wednesday, 14 June 2017, at 12:00 in the Jolly Lecture Theatre in the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine building.

Ms Stafa will be buried in Cofimvaba, Eastern Cape, on Saturday, 24 June 2017.

On behalf of UCT, I extend heartfelt condolences to Ms Stafa’s family, friends and colleagues for this sad loss.

Sincerely

Dr Max Price
Vice-Chancellor
