The University of Cape Town (UCT) is calling on first-year students to sign up for the Leadership Academy’s Leadership Launchpad.
Presented in eight learning experience sessions, the aim of the programme is to get students to think critically about leading with purpose, empathy and imagination. The sessions will equip them with communication and decision-making skills, and knowledge on how to work in teams. The idea is for participants to use the programme to explore leadership beyond titles, the lecture hall and traditional expectations.
The introductory session will take place on Thursday, 30 July, from 17:00 to 19:00. Thereafter, students will participate in workshops, excursions and thought-provoking discussions exploring diverse pathways to leadership – spanning topics from activism to financial literacy, as well as spirituality and sustainability.
Following the inaugural session, workshops will continue to run every Thursday for the duration of the programme except for two Saturdays in August (1 and 29 August).
Applications close on 13 July.
