Congratulations to the 110 academic and technical staff who have achieved success in the latest ad hominem promotions. The formal celebration was held on Tuesday evening, 12 March.

This group represents a diverse body of colleagues across all faculties.

The process follows strict criteria, which go beyond performance in lecture halls or laboratories. They also take into consideration each individual’s social responsiveness, whether community engagement, clinical services, health systems development or policy input.

“Their promotion is a celebration of their academic achievements and outstanding leadership in teaching and research,” Vice-Chancellor Dr Max Price said in a communique. “It recognises their contribution towards achieving our 2020 vision, which includes being an engaged and research-intensive university.”

The breakdown of the 110 promotees: five from the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED), 8 from the Faculty of Commerce, 18 from the Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment, 35 from the Faculty of Health Sciences, 27 from the Faculty of Humanities, three from the Faculty of Law, 13 from the Faculty of Science and one from the Graduate School of Business.
